General policy

The legal basis for the collection of the requested data and the presentation of a valid identity document for foreign guests of lodging establishments is Section 29 (2) to (4) in conjunction with Section 30 (2) of the Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz - BMG).Anyone who does not sign this special registration form or does not sign it in time is committing an administrative offense (Section 54 (2) No. 8 BMG). The administrative offense can be punished with a fine of up to 1,000 euros (Section 54 (3) BMG).
